Safia Delta was born in the south of France in 1983. She studied British and American literature at university before spending 8 years in the suburbs of Paris where she turned to photography.
She is an autodidact, kind of a professional amateur and a visual art lover who favours non verbal forms of communication and uses photography to question her relationship to reality and record aspects of the society she lives in.
She doesn't think photography is an absolute end. She isn't a purist and considers photographs to be both an end and a means to vehicule ideas and feelings in a quiet, peaceful way.
